Preamble

Autopoll communicates with the database and if available with add-on programs via TCP (the internet protocol). Additionally Autopoll establishes connections via FTP, HTTP, SMTP and other protocols to card readers, file-servers and the services of Autopoll, depending on the chosen configurations and the activated Autopoll modules. Autopoll looks like malware to anti virus software, real time process scanners, firewalls etc. because it communicates with a lot of other devices like a virus or malware. Due to this it is necessary to configure anti virus software, real time process scanners and other security features so that Autopoll can run and work properly.

Database

Autopoll kommuniziert mit der Firebird Datenbank (auch bei lokalen Installationen) über den TCP-Port 3050 (und 3051). Diese müssen frei und ungestört bleiben. In manchen Umgebungen wird der zweite Port statt auf 3051 auf einen anderen Port frei ausgehandelt. Es ist möglich diesen zweiten Port über die Konfigurationsdatei "firebird.conf" (C:\Programme\Firebird\Firbird_1_5\firebird.conf), festzulegen (Zeile RemoteAuxPort = 3051, ca Zeile 336).

Wenn es bei laufendem Firebird-Server und richtig angegebenen Datenbankpfad in der apv4.ini-Datei zu keiner Datenbankverbindung kommt, sollte (kurzfristig) die Firewall und/oder die Sicherheitssoftwaren deaktiviert werden. Kommt es dann zu einer Verbindung zur Datenbank, d.h. Autopoll startet, wurde bestätigt, dass die Firewall oder die Sicherheitssoftwaren blockieren und eingestellt werden müssen. Zur Einstellung der Firewall und Sicherheitssoftwaren den eigenen EDV-Administratoren kontaktieren.

Anti virus software and real time process scanner

Wenn es während des Betriebs von Autopoll, insbesondere bei Kommunikationsfunktionen, zu Störungen kommt, oder die Datenbank plötzlich drastisch an Größe gewinnt, dann haben meist Anti-Virenprogramme oder Echtzeitscanner störend eingegriffen. Zur Behebung gilt die gleiche Vorgehensweise wie bei den Firewalls, also deaktivieren, prüfen ob es daran lag und dann passend einstellen. Eine drastisch an Größe gewinnende Datenbank, ohne dass entsprechend Tankdaten gelesen wurden, ist meist auch ein Hinweis auf eine defekte Datenbank.

Broken database

The integrity of the database can be checked over File-Database-Check. If the "Export mode" is being activated before the start of the database check, the number of errors is being indicated in case of a broken database.
